Fest jazz 27th - 30th July 2023
Fest Jazz 2022 was a great success with over 5000 visitors, a fabulous atmosphere and even the sun shone ! It was good to see many of our British friends again and we hope to see even more of you in 2023.
The Online Ticket Office is open. However, don’t leave it until the last minute to reserve your accommodation. Finistère has become a tourist hot spot !

Please note that on the Thursday 27th July there is a special concert of Django Reinhardt style jazz, by one of the most famous stars in France, Thomas Dutronc. This will certainly be a sell-out so get your ticket very soon (30€ for the Thursday or 97€ for the four day ticket (Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday))

The festival that is “more Woodstock than Conservatoire !”
This young at heart festival, at Châteauneuf-du-Faou in the depths of the idyllic Brittany countryside, attracts artists from around the world…and spectators too! There are four venues on the banks of the beautiful River Aulne, all within easy walking distance of each other. All venues are covered (it sometimes rains in Brittany!). The atmosphere is relaxed and convivial with a great mixture of nationalities and generations. And there are swing dancers everywhere!
The programme places the emphasis on young musicians and lively, danceable jazz although other styles of music are well represented too. Lots of people in the jazz world are talking about Fest Jazz as a “new kind of jazz festival”. Why not come see for yourself and join in the fun?

Getting there
Choose how you’d like to come to Châteauneuf-du-Faou and attend Fest Jazz!
By plane: Take off and land at Brest or Quimper airports.
By train: The closest stations are Quimper, Rosporden, Carhaix, Brest or Châteaulin, find your train on SNCF or Trainline.
By bus: Choose the Quimper-Carhaix, Châteaulin-Carhaix or Brest-Carhaix line via the Penn-ar-Bed departmental network.
By carpooling: You would like to meet other festival-goers and pay a low price for your trip while thinking of the planet, reserve your seat, or place an ad on BlaBlaCar or on Carpooling Libre.
By car: If you want to rent a vehicle at a low price, getaround.com offers private-to-private rentals, an ideal solution for coming to Fest-Jazz.
By boat: Brittany Ferries will take you from England or Ireland to Roscoff. We are negotiating with Brittany Ferries to see if a “package” is possible in 2023. More news in the autumn…. please watch this space !
We also remind you that cars aren’t allowed on the festival site. A shuttle bus, free and accessible to all, takes you from the centre of Châteauneuf-du-Faou to the Penn Ar Pont site. Pedestrians, please use the Venelle du Pont (a pretty lane which starts close to the Tourist Office) to go to and from the festival to the city centre. The main road is not safe for pedestrians, only cars.

classic cars
In recent years Fest Jazz has become a focal point for a superb rally of Classic cars from the UK and France. A display of these wonderful vehicles takes place at the entrance to the festival on the Saturday and Sunday. For more details visit our Classic Car Page
Dance at Fest Jazz
Fest Jazz is not a dance festival but it’s a festival of jazz with dance at its heart! We believe that jazz and dance are inextricably mixed. At the festival, there are:
– two venues with designated dance floors
– free workshops for all levels
– many superb bands ideal for swing dancing
– a wonderful friendly atmosphere
– reduced ticket prices for members of official dance clubs in the UK and Europe. All you need to do is to ask your club to send an application to be a partner of the festival to contact@fest-jazz.com

We also have a partnership with swing dance associations in Brittany. If you are a dance association outside France who would like to have a partnership with Fest Jazz, please contact us.

We receive around 3000 requests each year and we can only welcome about 30 groups. Maybe you won’t be in Fest Jazz this time, but don’t hesitate to contact us and reach out again next year!
