poissons voyageurs
The French-Canadian collective Les Poissons Voyageurs was born one spring day in 2008, from the wandering spirit of a surfer-translator-interpreter who wanted to devote himself to unlimited travel and the double bass.
And so he gathered a white truck, some 27 musicians who would take turns playing in it, and a repertoire that would be the envy of collectors of oral tradition, for more than 10 years of travelling.
Inspired by Moldovan taverns, Ukrainian border posts and the volcanic landscapes of the Canary Islands, Les Poissons Voyageurs bring together and compose a repertoire that resembles their lives: a generous helping of humour in a healthy dose of lovingly crafted music, with swing and Balkan accents.
