big band du pays roi morvan

This Jazz Big Band was created in 2010 by Xavier Dagorn, who wanted to introduce jazz standards to students at the Pays du Roi Morvan Music School in Le Faouët (not far from Châteauneuf-du-Faou).

In 2012, Karl Gouriou (saxophone teacher) took over the leadership of the jazz big band. Like all jazz enthusiasts, he has spent years nurturing a keen appetite for discovering jazz among amateur musicians.

With its 19 musicians, this jazz big band is beginning to gain a very good reputation, as for the past three years they have been working in collaboration with a choir specialising in jazz from the Kreiz Breizh School of Music, Theatre and Dance, directed by Marine Vansteene (singing teacher).
