The Sweet Peppers

  • Fernando Morrison : Contrebasse
  • Arthur Defrain : Batterie

Originally created for the local Swing dancers in Montpellier (Sothern France), “The Sweet Peppers” was born in 2012 as a quartet. Taking advantage of their own experience as dancers, the musicians gradually improved their technique and their sense of rhythm. Four years later, the quartet became a sextet. Considering their concert as a “show”, they pay attention to the arrangements which they write themselves. The expression in the vocals, the rhythmic energy and the strength of the instrumental improvisation are qualities they use in order to make their performances a real “spectacle”. The Sweet Peppers are looking to further their writing and arrangement work; they have already added a few classical pieces and references to their repertoire (such as Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake). As they are accomplished musicians who play in many bands, they feed their inspiration from these other musical experiences into the music of the “Sweet Peppers”.
